Mr. Jimmie McFadden was born on March 1, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary McFadden, and was raised in Olanta, South Carolina.
After completing his education, Jimmie chose to serve his country and joined the United States Army, where he served honorably as a Private Second Class (PV2). Following his military service, he pursued a career in auto mechanics, a field that perfectly matched his natural talent and lifelong passion for working with his hands.
Jimmie had a deep love for repairing and restoring all types of vehicles and anything mechanical. He was also a gifted painter, admired for his exceptional skill in restoring cars and bringing them back to life. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work were admired by all who knew him and remained a central part of his life’s journey.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Alamar Gomez, in December 2023. He is survived by his sons, Ricky McFadden, Russell McFadden, and Kelvin McFadden, all of Georgia; and by his daughters, Angela McFadden-Gomez of Georgia, and Tiffaney and Alisha, both of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Destiny, Sergio, Kelvin, Tevin, and Joel; and one great-grandson, Micah.
He is also survived by his sister, Deloris Brand; his brother-in-law, Johnny Lee Brand; his brother, Eric McFadden; former wife, Betty Jackson; and nephews Johnny and Demetrius Brand, along with a host of other loving relatives and close friends. Special thanks to Aunt Deloris, Uncle Johnny Lee, our Mother Betty Jackson, and my niece Destiny Ani.
Jimmie was the type of man who loved to laugh, tell stories, and bring joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his spirit rest in peace.
