Richard Yohrling, 74 of Summerville, SC passed away on Saturday August 29th, 2026. He was born on June 3rd, 2026 in Bayonne, NJ and lived his life in New Jersey, Florida and South Carolina. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Spinozzi) and two children, Meghan (James) Lloyd and Adam (Tammy) Yohrling. He is survived by the loves of his life, his grandchildren Aaden and Sophee Lloyd and Colton, Harrison and Magnolia Yohrling. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret (Barry) Eisenhower, Edna Burch and Susan (Michael) Latronica; sister-in-law Elaine Yohrling and brother-in-law Joseph (Kathleen) Spinozzi and many nieces and nephews.

Rich worked over the years as a professional tractor-trailer driver and CDL Driver Instructor, school tour bus driver, and from 2000 until his retirement in 2018 with Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers and Interior Kitchen/Bath Designer. The past few years he freelanced part-time as an independent interior kitchen/bath designer which left him plenty of time for his passion on all things baseball, wrestling and fishing. He loved working with kids and coaching over the years many youth baseball, softball and wrestling teams, as well as Boy Scouts. He was most recently involved as a coach for the Project Destiny Wrestling Club and East Edisto Wrestling team in Summerville, SC and truly enjoyed the camaraderie he had with all the coaches, but especially the mutual respect he forged with all the kids on the teams. While he won many awards for kitchen design over the years, his greatest reward was the smiles and laughs of the kids on the teams. He always told them it wasn’t so much about winning as much as it was about the learning, growing and respecting both the game and the opponent.

Rich never met a stranger and was known to sit at a table or counter and start up a conversation with anyone that usually resulted in a new friendship. He loved deeply and was loved by his family and friends. He will truly be missed by them.

No formal services are planned at this time, but a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. If you wish to remember him in some way, please place that focus on your own families and any special charities that you support.
